Hi everybody,

It seems that the icy road spell is almost over, thank goodness.

Very timely because next Sunday , 29th January, we are holding the Rob and Adrian memorial rides over 100 or  50 kilometres from the Henhurst Club staring at 10am for the 100 and 10.15 for the 50. We are raising funds to purchase two defibrillators , one for ourselves and one for the South Pennine with the intention of have them available at time trials. For these rides a donation to the fund is required.  There will a free tea or coffee at the finish with a piece of cake and therefore the minimum donation will be £5.00 , any additional donations will be gratefully accepted.

Subscriptions are now due. The annual fee remains unchanged at £20 if racing and £10 for social. I am still looking  into the British Cycling membership scheme but there are some aspects of it that I wish to investigate further.   Payment can be made direct to a club official or direct to the Clubs bank, Natwest , Mercia Cycling club, sort code 52.10.35 , account number 04623282. If anyone wishes to wait to see if the British Cycling system is used that is fine . Two aspects of the scheme that I am not happy with are that the member has to provide BC with their credit card details and pay them a fee of £1.

Stay safe on these cold days, remember that black ice can form in a wind chill situation up to +4 degrees C.
