Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles Bulletin 28/02/24

Good afternoon,

Thanks to the organisers of the two recent club rides from the Henhurst Club. A total of almost £800 has been raised for the Air Ambulance and the Red Cross, well done Kieron, Caroline, Janet , Ian, Anne, Tony and to all who rode and supported the rides. Special thanks to Peter’s CTC friends who we look forward to having join us again on future rides.

A session on the velodrome in Derby has been booked, 2 hours at 8pm on April 3rd.

The evening is open to all abilities and ages,  bike hire is available form the Venue. The cost for the use of the velodrome is £15 and bike hire has to be paid additionally on the night if needed. The velodrome bikes are fitted with Look Cleo pedals.

Anne is a registered coach at the velodrome and will be running the session.

Perfect timing to train for the first club event on April 9th !!

To any rider who has not tried the velodrome this is a great opportunity to do it amongst friends and in not too crowded conditions.

The cost of the hire for the 2 hour session is around £300 so your support is needed.

If the demand is there,  further sessions can be arranged.

We do need 20 riders to make the evening cost effective so please book your places

The roller racing has been completed now but the Henhurst Club is available to us for meetings on Tuesday evenings form 8pm. A group of us were there last evening and it is a good opportunity to meet and plan for the coming season,
